Hi RabRow   only Black's I knew were: Alex Black [married to Jean Brush]  but lived in Utility Street ... was a a bit of a wheeler/dealer;  and Eddie [Skajer] Black [was in the Royal Inniskillings with me] ... lived in Matilda Street ... moved to Lonsdale Street.
I left Eureka street in the 50 but my folk lived there until the demolition.

Cheers Acker. Maybe I'm gettin mixed up. The fella I'm thinking of did leader in a band at one time. And it would be after you left. Maybe some connection.

Just looking though the photos again,and I thought something a bit 'qirky',don't know if thats the right word. But anyway there is a photo of the Sandy Row brewery arch in 1927 and again in 1932. There is a wee girl in white running on the pavement and seems to be heading for the arch. Then in the 1932 one you would think it is her just reaching it.
 
I think they are the right years as there is what appears to be a barrow at the roadside in one of them. But for a while I was thinking it was a photo taken just a few seconds after the wee girl was on the pavement.

Thanks for the photo bout the wee row and especially Eureka Street, i was born in Eureka St in 1944 and i remember playing in the air raid shelters in your photos.
They were just outside the Bloomers house. Photos are Magic.... memories keep them coming

Think i know a couple in that photo, Tommy Rodgers and Bella Martin.
