John Hewitt.

Hasn't been discovered by tourists yet.

Great music, friendly barstaff.  Frequented by people of all ages - musicians, writers, artists, a few eccentrics, and the general after-work drunks.

Unlike the Duke of York which now has bouncers! Sad really.  It was a great bar for many years.  now it's a parody of itself.
 :)

Going slightly on a tangent here but my favourite bar used to be Whites Tavern which used to have arguably the WORST TOILETS in Belfast .. unacceptable in this day and age .. BUT ... having been over a few months ago .. what a pleasure
to see new modern toilets .. mind you I think the inflated bar prices are paying for them

What kind of music please?  It would be nice to find another good music venue in central Belfast. :)

Thanks.

I forgot about the live acoustic music.  I should have known because my son played that gig a few times.  Must be my age showing. :)

Allymac, you do the word 'toilet' a disservice.   :D

What the Hill Tavern offers is infinitely less inviting that taking a spade with you into bear-infested woods in an artic blizzard.
