going back a bit further...does anyone remember the off licence in Portallo Street. Used to be run by my grandfather Mr Terry Brady. He brought up a family of 10 there. I believe there was an informal bar in the kitchen. The girls had to ''keep dick'' and let them know if a peeler was coming by (unless iit was a peeler who would have a drink there himself that is!)

the only  thing you got from portallo st in my days was a kicking !

Great photo of the Gaelic team. I lived beside Godfrey ( Gus ) Hannigan in my youth. They lived on the front of the Castlereagh Rd at the corner of Cicero Gdns. He went on to play basketball and rugby and joined the Civil Service after school and retired a few years ago. Last i heard he was living around the Cairnburn rd area and must be nearly 70 now. Never a Gaelic team in my time at the school but good days

Hi everyone, great thread.
I see my uncle John Wallace listed as deceased in the 1966 class list posted by Cody.  John did indeed die in 1972 aged 16. Does anyone on here remember him?
Thanks in advance from North America.

the highlight for me was the bizarr (never could spell that ) the irish dancing wasnt for me but i had 2 cousins who loved going there every sat. the only other memory i have is been taught in there while the school got renavated. not a big lot when you add it up but back then there wasnt anywhere else to go except the park or entrys if u was lucky  :D
