Was there a guy called Halliday, possibly Martin or Thomas who went to St Anthony's - seem to recall him playing in the football team in a match against Harding St? Think there were two or three brothers, possibly lived in the Mount?

that was our class who got trashed by harding  up at daddy winkers unless its a different game youve mentioned.  there was a catholic family who lived in the mount. there back was right to the back entry of the woodstock rd other side of radnor st. robert semple and meself would have been round at theres back then but i cant remember there names.

not sure if i have this right or not but clem did you not mention to me that there was a guy in our class who lived above hassetts tv shop ? but immigrated to ozzie land ? think you even remembered his name ?!

 
 
hugh finnley was this guys name. left for ozzie land, not that i can remember him.

out of the class i only know of 5 who went unto st pats. dessie mulligan, ken eccles, kevin mcanally , danny oreilly and clem.
colm coleman went to barneys antrim rd.  the rest gusties or unknown ?! :smile:

think we can now say that Danny burns was definitely in our class and martin halliday as well. almost complete i reckon. think micky oneil may have lived down by castlereagh st ?  :scratch_ones_head:

i  went to st anthony's p.s myself my two younger sister's were the last pupiils in the school before it closed many fond memories i left in 1996 i think fr o'leary was the parish priest

willowfield drive... was a brilliant school lol many memories lol many a brick always found its way through the bus window's    martin mc glade was the headmaster

i alway wondered were those in the later years came from to attend the school as there wasnt to many locals looking to get in ?! were did the numbers come from ?

there was always people from the strand at st anthonys. no doubt in larger numbers in later years.

talking of people from the strand. back in 69 from our class, dessie milligan, paul gracey, kevin mcanally and ken eccles were from the strand. all came viva lagan village to st anthonys.
