Unfortunately when I was at the schhool from 1972 - 1979 there wasn't too much in the way of a catholic ethos - some of the most vcious brutes called 'teachers' viciously used the strap or worse hit you with slps and punches arounf the head and called this part of the Catholic ethos and moral compass???One of the worst was Barney Kerr who viciously struck my friend Stevie on the side of his hie causing ringing and soreness in his over for over a week. Today Ker would have neen arested and charged with assault and lost his job and career.
I don't think it's a nice thing to pick an individual (Barney Keer) out for such a character assassination. It could also be libellous.
I happen to come across Bearnard Kerr in my ramblings to this day.
An elderly frail man, who always seems to have the time of day....living his last years out.
