is that John Mullan ontop aka Wolfhound and isn't that Geodie Mouse's brother in the doorway. Recognize Eleanor Maguire and Mairead Dalton

.if this is "streets of the old Market week" I'm tossing in this one of Welsh Street (hope I'm right on this) taken from Eliza Street, looking north down Welsh St. to Lagan St. at the far end. Correct me anyone. Dolly, can just see the Stanfield/Welsh St. corner - this is your old turf.

Val  .sorry to hear you have been poorly for a while. Sincerely hope you are on the full mend and that you will be popping up more regularly on these pages as your health improves. (LOL -Lots Of Love)

Nice memories seeing the pictures of Dolly's dumpling and listening to the ooh's and aah's it causes. Funny, you never, ever, heard anybody carrying on like that over "Paris Buns". I wonder why.....good old Paris Buns, the poor man's pastry. If some of you don't remember this "delicacy",   fuggetaboutit.....you haven't missed anything.

Kate. o  and Johnboy. .like many other Market kids I share your love of the old places in the old neighbourhood. Here are 2 more views of one subject - you could call it 2 Grand - but not mean $2000. I liked to think that the "grand Barr" meant one of the family but that was wishful thinking. A "Grand" Bar on "Joy" Street. Makes sense doesn't it?

PB, you are 100% spot on about that pic. Dolly, you said about the pic of your old house "after it was burned", the reason it was burned was because the brits were using it as an OP (observation post) to spy on people in the area. I actually remember the day that the brits were caught out in it, and, they left one of them behind. A crowd of Market women protected him and brought him back to the "army billet" as we called it. If he had been left to us (young rioters) God knows what would have happened to him! LOL

Kate.o If you go back a right few pages on this blog, there is not only pics of Veenie Beatty, but there are great pics of Staunton St. I'm sorry because I don't know the exact pages.
