Okay folks here's some recipes from the Kindergarten Cookbook ( For the adventurous cooks )that came home today, the kids told the teacher what they liked to eat and how to make it and she wrote it down word for word. This teacher is a gem
just a few of the recipes...I won't use their names, these are 5 and 6 year olds.
Rice Krispie Squares:
1500 Rice Krispies
50 marshmallows
1cup of butter
15 drops of milk
Mix the Rice Krispies, marshmallows, milk and butter in a pan and put it in the oven. Bake at 5000 degrees for 50 minutes. You will know when it's done when it beeps. Take it out of the oven. Serve on a tray and eat it with apple juice!!
Vanillla Cake:
1 package of flour
3 eggs
2 icings
5 spoons of vanilla
1 jug of milk
2 spoons of butter
1 cupful of sugar
Mix the flour and all the other stuff in a bowl with a mixer. Put it on a cookie sheet but for cakes. Put it in the oven. The oven should be 40 degrees. Bake the cake for 10 minutes. If you open the oven and it looks good --- take it out and put candles on it and sing Happy Birthday to someone. Serve it with a knife so you can cut it up for everyone.
Eggs.
3 eggs
A bit of butter (a teaspoon)
A little salt (a teaspoon)
Crack open the eggs into the frying pan, put butter and salt on top. Turn the stove on to 7. Cook the eggs for 3 minutes. Do not flip them. You will know when they are done when your Mum says so. Eat them with toast..maybe.
Velvet Cupcakes.
1 bag of red stuff (it might be velvet)
1 cup of flour
2 cups of milk
Maybe some sugar
1 or 2 eggs.
Mix up the stuff and put then in a little cupcake pan. Put them in the oven for 60 minutes at 1 degree. It usually dings when it's done. You could also use purple velvet if you can't find any red.
And the last one.
Chicken with bones.
20 pounds of chicken
1 yellow cup of syrup
Buy a chicken at the store. Cut it into pieces and then you go wash your hands. Put the pieces on a pan to put in the oven. Pour the syrup over top. Cook at 100 degrees fo 29 minutes. You'll know it is ready when it looks cooked. Take it out, put it on a plate and then you eat it with a fork and knife and mashed potatoes and broccoli.
The egg and chicken recipes are my two grandsons.
Btw each book comes with a warning:
Don't Try These At Home!!
