Everybody in the island of Ireland are now wise to these shysters so they must now be casting their net further afield . Good to see at least a couple of them caught.

No one interested in Aussie Rules Football, I find that hard to believe.

Itís virtually unknown outside Australia in the same way that American ďfootballĒ is unknown outside of the States . The difference being Aussies understand this whereas Americans canít understand why people in the rest of the world donít give a flying monkeys fart about eggball . They also donít get that the concept of the Baseball World Series implies teams from all over the world when in fact itís only teams from America and a couple from Japan and South Korea.

Not interested in NRL, that I can understand.

My fellow Australians, do you think the taste of Vegemite has recently changed?

Interesting article in the RACV - Australia's Most Interesting Drives,

https://www.racv.com.au/royalauto/travelling/australia/best-road-trips-aus.html?mid=&edm_id=edm:racv_enews&cmpid=edm:racv_enews

We've covered a fair bit of Victoria and Tasmania, a bit of NSW, QLD and SA but none of WA and the NT.

Most of Queensland and the Northern Territory was covered by train but we have never really roughed in the Outback.

How about you?

Cheers.

Come on Roadracer, be fairdinkum, there are AFL teams in every State in Australia with the exception of Tasmania and that will only be a matter of time as soon and Launcenston and Hobart sort out their differences.

Nothing better than watching the big men fly.

Cheers.

Hope none of you are affected by the dreadful fires.  We are getting almost daily updates from a friend in the blue mountains who is, not for the first time, packed and ready to flee.  It must be dreadful deciding what to take and what to leave and to lose everything.

Yes indeed MaggieP , I have friends who live in the suburbs of Adelaide and while the fires are not a direct threat to them they are constantly smelling the smoke , a dreadful time for those affected directly .

Yes, your friends in the Blue Mountains would be nervous,

She can be a tough country at times but I guess that is what makes the Australian character.

I remember the Ash Wednesday Bushfires of 1983 where 75 people perished and the Black Saturday Bushfires of 2009 where 180 people perished.
