I went to St Monicas beside St Augustines.

If the head nun was wee mo then she sure did get into wicked moods, that is when she emerged out of her office to inspect the uniforms and heaven help you if it was not the right uniform :o

you know id forgotten about them  O0 i was in bosco. in first year i went into class b2, 2nd year b4,

the classes was changed in 4th and 5th year into cse , gce and non exame classes. i got into cse class but never made it due to having to leave were i lived. not sure what name they put on those classes.
. by the way i was in the first wave of those who had to stay until they was 16 !! the year above us was the last to be able to leave at 15. (lucky gits)

I knew a Mr Westland whom I met in the late 70's ...would that be correct.

Was the Mr Brennan who was killed in the troubles called Andrew Brennan.   I f so I knew all his brothers very well and went to school with one of them. :(

Isn't it a small world,....I knew a Ciarnan Dowd who eventually went to Stranmillis training college and then Cork Uni as head of P.E.  He was slight build with blond hair and at one stage played soccer for Cliftonville. ::)

Westland never had a very high regard for the people from the Market or Short strand area's, on a few occasion's I witnessed him belittling both the parents and pupils that they came from the slums.  If that was his opinion then fine, but he could never meet a better set of people who were decent and hard-working and above all honest.
