Went to the school from 1964 - 1970. Remember some teachers that havent been mentioned. The VP O'Connell, Herbie O'Reilly the geography teacher, Humpy McMillen who took the football team and we had to bring an orange to the game and share it with the opposition ! didnt matter if they had kicked 6 bells out of us during the game. A one armed teacher called O'Rawe who was a decent tennis player and played on the school court. A visious art teacher who i think was called McGonigle but not certain

Dub,last I heard of Speedy was that he owned a haulage outfit in Australia.... I didn't know Speedy that well  but we had a large extended crowd of buddies..my mate lived in St. John's opposite Vincent Mc Gurran and knew Speedy and Eddie well...he is still in touch with Eddie...Eddie had a boat and house around Sketterick. I too hung around the upper Ormeau...good crowd and plenty of craic O0

Som,  I was there from 1958 to 1962 , it seems a long time ago, I went up for the 50th anniversary a  few years ago in the Waterfront.  My good friend S.J. came over from Australia for it,  and we met up with some of our old classmates, We visited the school the next day , I took loads of photos, and had tea and buns in the old house along with other past pupils and the head master.  Did you go there?
                                                                                         All the best, Dub.

Hi Dub
You were before my time. I didn't go until 1965 (left in '72). Didn't get to the 50th. Had one of my brothers there from 1959 so you would have been ahead of him.

My sister was one of the first batch of pupils to attend St Monica's which would have been 1958.
St Augustines opened some time after that in the mid 60's.
Although I didn't go, I knew a lot of people who did.
Some of them ran protection rackets i.e. extorting money from the nerdy ones who weren't tough enough to defend themselves!
