Hi, my name is Margaret Charlesworth and I lived in Mersey Street opposite Mersey Street Primary School.  I live overseas but always remember my education at this school, and the great teachers I had.  In particular Mr Shannon a great teacher.  Does anyone know where Margaret Moore is who lived In Parkgate Gardens?  I do think of all my classmate friends and wonder where they are, Sandra Stitt, Gloria Pittman, Margaret Moore, Margaret Warden,Maisie Rainey. I still have my Elementary Leaving Certificate from Mersey Street Primary. I am so happy that the integrity of the school has been kept by keeping the front fašade, and that some of the people living in the apartments are ex Mersey Street Primary students.  My brother is Walter Charlesworth and he is also living overseas.  Regards, Margaret.

charlesworth- There was a Margaret Moore in my class at Mersey St the class Master was Mr Stitt the year was 1952 before all the boys  at twelve years of age went to Ashfield . I have mentioned a few names that were in my class earlier on this thread have a look you may know some of them. I remember a lad called Gibson living opposite the school  ring any bells? I lived in Harkness Parade off Chelsea St. Another name not quite opposite the school was  Billy Docherty.Rmc

Hi, I know the Gibsons, my neighbours who lived in the two houses beside us and went to Mersey Street Primary were:  Eddie Smiley, Helen Moorehead, and up the street and still opposite the school as well was Myrtle Clint.  I remember Mr Stitt very well, he was always dressed in  very smart suits, ,, dark hair, I think either Welsh or English, and a very good teacher the girls loved him and thought he was so handsome.
