Edward St,Belfast 1960 -1969

Just stumbled on this thread.   

I was born in 26 Edward Street, my grandparents' house.  They were Tommy and Mary Jane McCourt.  My mother and father were Jim and Kay Pauley and we lived there until about 1960 when my parents got their own place on the Springfield Road. I used to visit every weekend with my grandparents and every day during the school holidays while my parents were at work, so still played with all my childhood friends there.  My best mate was Eddie Lowe, Lizzy Boyd's son and after he moved away i buddied with Jim McAllister who lived in that small side street up the top of Edward Street.  Was it called Little Edward Street?

My mum was close friends with Mary Pierucci and they also worked at the same place for a while.  She was also close friends with Kitty McVeigh and Bea and Nancy Larmour.

Lots of happy memories of The Half Bap and Thomas Hannon's and Mrs Laverty's shops.
 
My grandparents died in 1966 and 1968 and my uncle Gerald McCourt took over the house with his wife Pat and their kids Mary, Kevin, Kathleen and Patricia.

Marie Toner is my mom. Her married name is Freel. Moved to Canada for many yrs but is now living back in Belfast

We are searching for the wife and children of Neville Edward Arnold, an Australian man , who worked in PNG in the late 60s-early 70s? We think around Port Moresby, but possibly Lae??  We believe he may have had children in PNG?  If so, they have a nephew in Australia who would love to make contact. We believe Neville Arnold died in Cairns in the early to mid 197os and is buried there.
Can anyone help PLEASE??
Love to have any clues to this mystery?

You haven't said how this relates to Edward Street, Belfast, 1960 - 1969, eg. was Neville perhaps born or reared in Edward Street? What is the connection?

New billy donnelly well he was a boxer had 4 kids good man. The peruiccis went to newsboys club Joe Angeol Bap me and Mick Curley .Jimmy Lyttle wher longtime members we still knock about togather see lots of members

John Donnelly lived in 22 Edward st he was the grandad to the perucci's who lived in 21 before their mother Mary died, maybe this is the person they are referring to in which case the perucci's would be relatives

William and John Donnelly were brothers of my grandfather Edward Donnelly.  I wonder where the medal is now !

Yes that is correct.  John Donnelly would have been their grandfather.  He was my mums uncle.
