Colette, that tie your Dad is wearing looks like a knitted type. I had several of those straight line end ties myself at one time. I saw one or two Teddy Boy suits when I was at the Rockabilly Roots Festival in Belfast from June 30th to July 2nd.

That is a lovely photo of your Mum and Dad. It's a pity about those lines on the picture. I wonder if anyone here can do something about them for you? If not here then Rootschat have a Photographic Restoration board. The members there do a good job too.

Hiya everyone. I was not always big and ugly :D I have a few photographs that may surprise you. Here is one which was taken when we lived at Ballydorn House near Whiterock Yacht Club. Ballydorn House was owned by a family called Davidson who lived in a farmhouse a couple of fields away. Note the gate in the photograph. I think gates were only taken from houses in Belfast. I recall hearing they were never used for the manufacture of munitions.

The Andrews family of Comber (Thomas Andrews designed the Titanic) have been connected with the Club for many years. The correct title of the Club may be the Strangford Lough Yacht Club.

;D I'll have to tell her that Bloom, Aunt Olive is the wee one in the middle of the pic she was the second youngest of 7 born 1940. The first born was Aunt Mary 1931 then Uncle John Doyle 1932 and then my Mum who has the Big Colgate smile in the above pic 1934.
they were all born in 16 Fort Street, of Springfied Ave of the Springfield road Mackies Foundry was at the bottom of their Street, with the exception of my Uncle Peter he was the youngest and in the earlier pic with my Granda, he was born in Glenavy in 1941.
