No Jilly, it was on the news. It is being offered to tourists as a holiday let like a B&B.

Hello Moonlight,
Oh I understand now why you said about it having "memoriabilia" left there.
Its a quite lonely spot-also not a lot to do around the area-certainly a car would be needed.
Then there is the uncertainty of our weather-not to mention how expensive it can be to holiday in U.K. and Ireland.Especially for families.
So it would have a limited appeal-mostly sports people I would have thought.Just my opinion of course.

I suppose it would attract football fans, fans of George or maybe some people just like the idea of staying in a house  where a famous person once lived Jilly.
Once sent out a word takes wing beyond recall

Yes Moonlight, expect some folk would be  attracted for those reasons.Perhaps "stag nights" or "hen nights".
As you said it was a sort of charity venture, its a good idea ,and hopefully those renting would respect the place.

Are you saying that we shoud respect everyone who has died including Ide Amin, Adolf Hitler and so on?  I can offer no respect to anyone who has destroyed human life.

Of course not, the thread is about George Best's home, I just think it wasn't a very nice post, he was a great footballer and admired by a lot of people, ok he had a drink problem but so have loads of people, imo it was unnecessary to make such a comment.
