The route was the 93 to Carr's Glen but vehicles running from Carr's Glen into the city centre would have displayed 83 or 84 to Ormeau or 85 or 86 to Mount Merrion. In the same way buses leaving Ormeau or Mount Merrion and heading into the city to go to Carr's Glen would have shown 93 or 94 as they crossed the city. (The same applied on the 35 Carr's Glen route which was a through service on the 33 to Ormeau/Cregagh and the 61 which ran as the 69 to Stranmillis from Carr's Glen)

Confused? iam be

83 to Ormeau  and 85 to Mount Merrion ran from the City Centre via Gt Victoria Street
84 to Ormeau and 86 to Mount Merrion ran from the City Centre via Bedford Street

It's all comming back 'the one that turned at the city hall and the one that went on to Great Victoria street and who could forget Mount Merrion :)

Amazing photographs :) wish I had some to share but most photographs kept by my family are all of people. My grandmother kept a load of ones taken in Benview, I'll have to figure out how to upload them once I get myself organised (moving house at the moment).

The pub is still named "The Phoenix" and the tram never actually hit - it was stopped from doing so by the shop it struck!
