Many, many thanks Nigel for the fast response to my e-mail. As I said, seeing the picture of my great Uncle Robert, (died 1/7/1916 - Somme). brought a tear to my eye. Never thought it possible to see him.
Thank you again.

Hi Nigel

I have emailed you via your website about photos of my granda and his brothers that you have listed on your site but haven't heard back from you yet. I am sure you have been inundated with request as the work you have done is so fantastic. The subject of the most recent email is 'my grandfathers photo with brothers'.

Many thanks in advance for checking

Apologies, but I do not appear to have received your emails ... although I have received a lot of requests and I may have overlooked the email.  The email address on the website is linked to my home email address, which II have sent top you via Belfast Forum Messenger service.

Thanks

Nigel

I am researching Belfast Presbyterians in the Great War and, as I wanted pictures to accompany the data, I decided to go through the Belfast Evening Telegraph day-by-day and photograph each page on with a serviceman picture was published.  As I was trawling, I photographed other items that I considered interesting.  I also trawled the BET for the early in case I could find pictures of War memorials from Presbyterian Churches that were destroyed during the WW2 Belfast Blitz

When I heard that the Belfast News-Letter was available via Ancestry, I decided to download the pages on which the "Ulster & The War" or "Gallantry Awards/Lists" appeared as I considered this to be a good source for background info (e.g. pre-war Occupation) - I know have 1419 "Ulster & The War" columns and 81 "Gallantry Articles/Lists" from November 1914 to August 1919.

As I was trawling the BNL, I downloaded other items that peeked my interest, for example, I love this banner headline:

As to the amount of time, who knows ...
