I am from Eskdale Gardens Ardoyne, then Wolfhill Dr Ligoniel. I was a nurse at Belfast City Hospital and left Belfast in 1977 and moved to Calgary,Alberta Canada. I now live on Vancouver Island but I have spent this winter in Mesa Arizona. We will be heading back to Canada on April 1. I have 2 sons who were born in Belfast and one daughter born in Canada (but made in Ireland!) I also have a 2 yr old grandson and another one due in July. I am really enjoying the BF and reading about people's memories.

kate.o   My wife says that you are a Champion!!     I was only away for months but you have brought up your family on your own.  We have 5 children and 11 grandchildren, eldest 38, youngest, 8, no more in sight, at the moment.   My wife enjoyed, Falmouth, too, I drydocked, there, a few times.

johnmc.   I brought out the Iron Somersby from Belfast after standing by the build for 7 months. We sailed from H&W  Thompson Wharf, 7th Dec. 1971 on a 31 day non stop voyage around Cape of Good Hope to Port Hedland arriving at the anchorage 7th Jan. 1972 after loading, arrived Port Kembla, 28th January.      We loaded at Koolan, Yampi Sound on later voyages for Japan.

Richard.  You really must be proud of your Post, it is filling a need for us all.   Dave.

Live in England :( physically. ...in my head still live in Belfast. Left 40 years ago but have been home sick for all that time.
