an irish saying?

was there ever an old irish saying relating to criminal charges, "i have more charges than the dixon hawke library"? i can find nothing here in scotland which relates to that saying. it was one of the last letters home from a soldier in WW2.

Hiya Joe, you should have googled for details of the Dixon Hawke Library There were 576 issues of a little pocket sized paper back magazine published between 1919 and 1941. I think Dixon Hawke was a Private Detective. The publishers were an extremely well known Scottish company .. D.C. Thompson

never thought of googling my friend, i was asking the old family but they never knew, so i thought it was irish, there you go, easy as that! my grandfather's brother went to fight in world war 2, his letters say he had went to make a man of himself, unfortunately he never returned. rip francis.
