Hello thesneakybandit,

Welcome to the Forum.

As a matter of interest are you connected with Oxjam?

The reason I ask is I'm wondering why the Odyssey, Opera House, Waterfront and many other places in the city that run events week in, week out throughout the year don't post details of their events on the Forum.

Christopher

i'm one of the four co-ordinators of this year's oxjam festival in belfast.

i've no idea really why other places don't use the forums. maybe they're just not well-known enough.

i only found out about here through a myspace friend request!

Were you one of the people at the Rotterdam talking to Ludwig a few Sundays ago?

You may have the comment about being well known back to front. If I conducted a survey on the streets of Belfast more people would know about the Odyssey and the other places that hold events than they would know about Belfast Forum. The Forum's not sufficiently well promoted.

Hello Mrs O,

Welcome aboard.

Were you sitting with three others and Ludwig in the Beer Garden at the Rotterdam?

Ludwig did mention to me that people from Oxjam were coming to speak to him.

I see Ruth McGonagle is organising an event at the Errigle.

Are any events being organised in Ballynahinch?

I was yeah, there was myself and 3 other Oxjammers.

Ludwig's a great guy, there will be an Oxjam night in October down at the Rott feat. himself and some acoustic talent.

Im not too sure about Ballynahinch, we are only running gigs in the Belfast area but if you want to run a gig yourself and promote it as Oxjam then get in touch with Oxfam :) They can help you out.

I see there's an OxJam Armagh and an OxJam Belfast. Is there an OxJam Lisburn?

If there are events in Lisburn you should post the details of events in that city on www.lisburnchat.com

Erm, Im not too sure. Like I said, we are only involved in Oxjam Belfast.

Its an open event, anyone can organise a gig in their town or city and bill it as an Oxjam event in the month of October, providing Oxfam are aware of it.

Thats the extent of my knowledge regarding other towns and cities im afraid.

Well I would rather hope that you weren't a flag. That would be verging on weird. :)

(By the way, telling people on the internets that you saw them places can sometimes be deemed as a wee bit freaky ;)) hehe

I know the feeling. On a couple of occasions on the genealogy boards people have told me they've been attempting to trace info about living relatives. When I asked for more information you could have knocked
me down with a feather as I knew the people about whom they were seeking the information.
