Maura,
Thank you ,Yes, I have been a member on and off for several years. I don't find it %100 with records being missing  even when you have the actual certificate in your hand as proof. I will go to the LDS on Wednesday and record what certificates are available for the Shearer records I have. I see James Shearer born 1878 father is Adam and James Shearer born 1880 father is John. It is so easy to go down the wrong branch of the family tree.

Regards

Maura,
Must apologise you are correct James Shearer born 25.10.1878 at 49 Byron St is the son of Adam Shearer and Sarah Ramsey.I could not find a Birth entry for Isabella Shearer born about 1878 although she does appear on the 1901 census. It means that James Shearer and Adam Shearer born 22.2.1874 at Clear Stream Lower Ballysillan are brothers. If I get an email address I will send Brian Shearer a copy of our Shearer Family Tree. Thanks again for your help

Regards

Isa

I am trying to find any bit of my family. I have my father's birth certificate which was registered in District of Belfast Urban No. 3.  bk 176.  He was said to be the first of 12 children born 6 March 1926 at 21 Lebanon Street to father James Shearer, a labourer and mother Mary Davis Carlisle Shearer.  He served in the QAF yet I can find nothing of my grandparents or the other siblings.  I have tried to look up 21 Lebanon Street and cannot find it.  Any suggustions concerning my family search would be most welcome.  Thank you.

Hi Isa & co

I am currently working on my fiancée's family tree. Would anyone here have any further information on Adam Shearer who married Sarah Ramsey in 1865, and their daughter, Isabella Shearer married William Edward Sands on 11 July 1904 at Duncairn Gardens Methodist Church. I would love to see any photographs if they are still available.
