st patricks youth club minstrel group
« on: January 07, 2014, 06:57:25 PM »
 :P

is there anyone out there who was a member of the st patricks minstrel group,
I was and I used to do a solo at the very end of the show, don't know if anyone will remember it.
It was called 'at the end of the day'

I would love to hear from anyone else who was a member.

I remember Paddy beautiful hair, and yes that was me that sang at the end of the day, then I went on to somewhere over the rainbow.

Loved those days, my sister (RIP) and I used to do a duet as well.

that name isn't ringing any bells.  There was Frankie Gibney, Seamus McAlorum, there was two other fellas made up a quartet but I can't remember their names.

it would have been the 60's my sister and I were in the troup for a number of years, the old midland hotel was opened you know the one at yorkgate station, I remember we did a show in there, so going back a long time.

The troup was managed by Mr Nolan from Victoria barracks and his helper was Gerry Turpit.

Loved every minute of it.  Another couple of fellas I remember  Gerry Hackett and Eamon Laundy.

cheers
