Starting something new [Open-space Café]
« on: April 12, 2014, 06:48:31 PM »
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask about this but it seemed the most suitable;

My mate and I are currently developing the idea of starting a café in Belfast(hopefully later a bar if can get a license).

The main basis for the café is to give new artists (musicians, painters, poets, etc.) a place to showcase their work, but it will also run as a 'standard café'. We are hoping to be able to make an atmospheric and pleasant open space where people can also sit and work on their laptops or have a chat over a cup of good coffee.

But in essence; the question is if this city would have room for a more alternative arts space that also runs as a café?

Hi Mikkeld. Great idea. I have a friend who is a great photographer and lives in belfast. I could ask her to contact you if you want. She does fab work.
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

I always enjoyed such cafes who for example run a poetry slam event from time to time :)
