Remembering Old Belfast bars

Do you remember any old bars that are now gone in Belfast..

Had a talk about this today.....Crazy how many are now gone (changed)

peter pan  use to go their in my youth   knocked down now and old blackstaff bar lying empty at the minute has been for some time a waste of a lovely place  beacons  never was in it but heard it was a nice bar to drink in and nice people  that's all you need for a good night out NICE PEOPLE AND NICE STAFF.  treat the customers with respect

what bars had you in mind

Oceanic.    Mc gurks   Gems. Rock town  old tom.  Starry plough  lynches. Gregory. Wee jacks.  Fredrick  bar.  Harbour bar mc governs.  ..running out of ink.   White lion  Waterloo bennys

was thinking that myself astor

can't really remember old bars as i never drank until i was in my mid twenties  making up for it now though ::)

Have been in most of the bars all over Belfast  doing business in the 70's and 80's and lots of stories to tell, as well as shebeens . But the best place was the Pit  beside fountain arcade in Belfast .

My old man always wore a suit to the pub. It wasn't like he was some Casanova, it was the done thing back then.  .to look good in public. He didn't have a good job or anything. I remember mocking him for that and now that he's gone I do regret it.

I have an old publication about a pub in Sandy Row, long gone.

I will dig it out.
