FREE dinner on Christmas day
« on: December 14, 2014, 07:34:02 PM »
Know anyone down on their luck, new to Belfast or on their own at Christmas? This year, Common Grounds and City Church Belfast will be serving up our annual FREE dinner on Christmas day.

Christmas Day signIt’s for anyone who wants to join us – no one will be turned away! If you’ve nowhere to go, you’re strapped for cash, you’re new to the city, or perhaps you’ll be at home alone, then our doors are open – and you’ll receive a big welcome!

Volunteers from the cafe, church and local community have been doing this since 2007, and it’s become very popular. There will be plenty of hot food and warm company. All you have to do is turn up on the day – Thursday 25th December from 12pm until 3pm.

We’ll be cooking a full traditional turkey Christmas dinner – with stuffing, potatoes, veggies and gravy. There will also be a halal option available. We’ll serve up dessert, tea and coffee and some music, too.

Our annual dinner is a great way for us to share the good things we appreciate and often take for granted – with others. So, if you know of anyone who might like to join us, then let them know!

Volunteers at the 2013 mealIf you plan to bring a large group, please contact us a few days beforehand.

For more information, please email [email protected]  or call 028 9032 6589 before 19th December

Molly Rose I was reading about this earlier on this morning, they got a great response from a lot of people wanting to donate either their time, food or money. It is a good thing that they do and I wish them every success. Merry Christmas to all 😘🎄

That's the spirit of Christmas.
