Hi Aileach41 - Sarah Jane who married James Parker's mother may have been called Sarah McCready. However I have to admit to not really knowing the answer to that question. My sis and I did work out that Sarah most probably was around 15 when James and she married. This could be why she said her father was deceased? It really is a mystery. BTW my grandmother was called Lucinda who we believe to be James & Sarah's second daughter Nellie being their first born.

Hi Aleach41
Unfortunately I still have no idea who Sarah Janes mother is. I have looked up David and Mary Jane's kids and was wondering if you have ever heard of them or if your mother ever mentioned any of them.
Robert born 6/8/1873
Sarah born 19/4/1875
Isabella born 4/6/1876
William born 26/8/1878
David born 2/5/1881
Ellenor born 11/11/1883
Elisha and Robert born 19/7/1886 and
Lizzie born 31/1/1889

I have also come across a Catherine O'Rourke who married a Matthew Anderson.  They had a son called William born 29/5/1893 and a Matthew born 16/10/1896 but no Sarah Jane!! So its doubtful that this is our Matthew.

GRONI's database only lists 1st name but checking the online civil registration on www.familysearch.org often gives a middle name (or middle names).

Marriage (1865) https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FGDX-KT3

William Beattie Anderson (1870) https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F5FP-H88
Robert Henry Anderson (1873) https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FPBN-3F7

Hi Jan Sid, Do you know that Matthew and Sarah Jane had two sons called Matthew; one b.1902, and another in 1907? which Matthew did Sarah Jane stay with? Also, do you know the names of your grandparents?

Sarah Jane Anderson stayed with her son Matthew Anderson who was married to my Grandmother Florence Anderson (formly Boyd) . They lived at 57 Westermorland St Shankill Rd . Matthew's wife (Florence) died and he remarried a lady named Magretta, not sure of her maiden name but I can find out. Matthew's fathers name was also Matthew, if we are talking about the same family. Hope this helps.

I not a lack of dates being offered, the generations could become muddled up.  Comber events would be registered in Newtownards
There are many Andersons connected to Comber in http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/I am curious where you got the Anderson from Ballyaltikilligan townland reference. My ancestorst lived there 1690- 1907 on a small farm on both sides of the Glen Road running eastwards, near an old flax mill.site  On my first effort on local history a Comber historical directory 2008, the only Anderson in Ballyaltikillgan I had found was Hamilton Anderson who put his mark on  the 1912 Ulster covenant in 1912.

Ros Davies Co Down website has  two databases of Andersons in Co Down , I'm just giving a few examples:-
Hamilton        ANDERSON    .           Killinchy         husband of Jane McBride ; father of Grace b. 23 Jun 1867 at Killinchy Church of Ireland     PR
Robert  ANDERSON  .  Comber  of Ballyrussell; given financial assistance of 6 pence by Dundonald Presbyterian Church in 1679  TMUOP p 80
Robert  ANDERSON  .  Comber  of Cherryvalley; b.c.1817; married Mary Bitcon of Herdstown, Donaghadee in 1840 ; father of William, James, Isaac, George, Samuel (last owner of the family farm), Mary, Elizabeth, Ann, & Andrew; 4 of whom migrated to Australia during the Famine ; died 26 Sep 1914  Rob Anderson
Robert  ANDERSON  .  Comber   husband of Mary Cochran ; father of John b. 28 Mar 1869 & William Thomas b. 15 Aug 1873  CR
Robert  ANDERSON  .  Comber   husband of Jane Wilson ; father of George b. 6 Dec 1870  CR

Some others
Alexander ANDERSON . Comber of Townparks ; leased a miller's house, corn mill , pond & garden in 1863 from reps. George Crea GV
J. ANDERSON . Comber volunteered & served in 1st World War War Memorial
Matthew  ANDERSON . Comber of Bridge St, Comber; with another, leased a house, office, yard & small garden in 1863 from John Hamilton GV
