Help wanted regarding sale of Large Commercial Ledger
« on: March 19, 2015, 09:18:33 PM »
I am trying to clear out my house but my problem is I do not know what price to ask for anything!
I already have for sale Mrs Beatons cookery book -no sale yet. Is it too dear?
also a 1975 Street directory-no sale yet.

So can someone tell me what I should ask for a 1921 government ledger?
It reveals all the old firms no longer here , is a mine of information to assist when tracing your family tree where payments and imprests are made to Companies, employees, Commercial premises and harbours. All names of employees are given as are the names of workers at Donaghadee and Ardglass Harbour, Workmens Compensation scheme, Various Exhibitions. ETC.
The ledger covers the period    1921 till 1939. There are no pages missing.

ANY HELP ANYBODY?

Contact one of the local auction houses in Belfast for a free valuation. I think the 1921 ledger would do well in auction.Good luck.

Pentio, you are a dear for replying. I am 81 (actually today!) I am sadly lacking in computer knowhow, but sometimes it works! It is a great feeling when I get a response from someone. Thank you very much you have made my day. So it's Happy Birthday to me!  :-*
Warm regards Sarah
