New Lodge
« on: April 15, 2015, 08:08:50 PM »
I was born and reared in Lepper Sreet, just off the New Lodge. Attended Star of the Sea school on Hallidays road, also  Hardinge Street. C.B.S. Have been in Ontario Canada for 49 years. Have many happy memories of Belfast, especially the New Lodge area.

Danny Simpson who posted on a similar page about the New Lodge is my cousin. He has been in Ausralia for some time.
Would like to be able to contact him. ?

Jimmy...there are a number of people on this forum who went to the Star of the Sea.   When did you attend the school. :)

Not all Hugh were at the Star when I was there. .Joe Mc Williams was about 4 years older and I didn't remember him.

Friends in my class were , Gerry Mc Cann, Willie Walsh, Tommy Campbell, Joe Donaldson, Gerry Masterson, John & Jimmy Mc Ilroy, Oliver , Joe Mc Vicker,Mickey Gargle ( the milkman after school ) Kevin O'Neill...not bad  :D ...there were about 19 others.  Frankie Benson lives in Canada and was in the same class. I have a few photos so I must post them but of an earlier era.

Hugh....Willie had red hair and his dad sold cars,   Gerry Mc Cann had twin brothers at the Star and another brother called Maurice .  They lived on the corner of Antrim Rd and Thorndale? almost opposite the top of the road.  The Mc Vicker was the bloke who had a false arm and who had a brother.  Was he Joe or John. :)
