I am in Australia.  I recently moved from the wet tropics ( just above Cairns ) to Brisbane .     Sweeney todd's grandad was a very good friend of my grandad and a very prominent businessman in that area.   He was one of the 1st to have a truck.   I know that because my grandad wouldn't buy one and my father who was an engineer went with sweeney's grandad to buy the truck. :)   I am not sure that he knows that bit of information.

That is a good bit of info Hugh. .Some famous people came from the area and I suppose that we can count Sir John Lavery who was a famous artist and of course our own Joe Mc Williams who is a past president of the Royal Society  of ?????    He was also an artist and many of his works are worth quite a bit of money.  Joe is still alive but lives elsewhere now but not too far away :) .

Joe Mc Williams ( cavehill gallery ) was born on the New Lodge. .he died last week.   Went to the Star of the Sea & St Malachy's college, Belfast

He was my 2nd cousin and thanks to Sweeney & Moondog who let me know.
I met him last year and we talked about our genelogy.  He had been ill for for awhile and was a great friend of Barney Mc Laverty the author.
