PLEASE HELP !!! Hotel Upper Newtownards Road
« on: May 23, 2015, 02:41:01 PM »
Can anyone tell me the name of a hotel that used to be on the Upper Newtownards Road, on the right, somewhere between Holywood Arches and Ballyhackmore, it has been closed for some years now.

"Girton lodge was also known as the Bishops Court as well."

In the 1960 street directory I posted at reply #4, there was a Girton Lodge Day School at 149 Upper Newtownards Road.

Yes CMcG, thanks for that, I think that is the place, I think it was the Girton Lodge Hotel and the Bishops Court Hotel at a later date. Cheers.

I do remember a small Hotel there but cannot remember its name. It was after the Girton Lodge Hotel and the Bishops Court Hotel.
We had our Trade Union branch meetings in it, in the 1980s. Dammed if I can remember the name.  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
