Frank the only shop I remember at the corner of Indepenant Street on the Strand end,
was Carsons then it was taken over by Davey Bell.

That photo of Jimmy Turley in Anderson street, by the look on his face you would think he was just about to be robbed.
The wee woman standing at the door was Mrs Martin. Her husband was Sean Martin (Martins Club)

B burger, your photos are first class, are you sure Duggans shop was in the strand as we know it, could it have been in Foundry st or some where before our time, great snap though

The date of that Mountpottinger picture was after 1981 the car outside the shop is a Datsun Sunny 14OY 1500 cc
my guess its about 1985-86
 
The car coming up the road is an Opel Manta 1979.
