anyone out there remember  Khartom St and the top end of Foundry st    Diver Griffen used to live last house beside the railway wall.

Diver was my Uncle John Griffin 21 khartom Street.  All the men in our Family get called Diver.

been in london that long i forgot a lot of faces and famlies does anybody know the whereabouts of willie costello who lived next door to the thomspons in sherrif st

 
Willie lives at the top end of Twinbrook.

I always thought that if you were born and reared on the Short Strand side of the Mountpottinger Road, that you are a true Strandie. The other side of the the Mountpottinger you are classed as either from St.Matthews or Ballymacarret
growing up as a kid we would always say we were born in the strand
as ballymacarret was a large area and as you know that only r c were born in
the strand

my granda, who hailed from Chemical st used to say he came from the tight end

Sorry to disillusion everyone but the whole area of the Short Strand on both sides of the Mountpottinger road, and the Newtowards road up past Conswater are all Ballymacarrett townland. The Lagan is the boundary.

just spotted my message sorry my grandfather was from strand and my mum they were the munsters lol my aunt Roseanne still lives there her married name rogan

Probobly right Roadhog where in Seaforde street. was around Lowery Street?

thier two different places theres the short strand then theres east belfast
