Yes it was scary at times and dangerous, Sadly no I don't visit much. My Grandparents,Mum Uncles and Aunt all from there long before the troubles began. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
hi trez, sadly i have moved on many years ago, tho not that far to pay it a visit now and again, im sure u wudnt recognize it anymore, so hold on to those memories, im sure it all seems like last week lol.

I am so happy the pictures in the previous posts are there as that is how I remember the old street (Altcar Street). So many happy memories for me. :)

heres afew names of people from the strand  i remember when i moved to craigavon early 70s.  john higgins, jimmy robinson. pat bates, francie ohara, pauline oreilly,  donna devlin, harry lagan. tommy gargan. theres afew for start maybe yous remember them ?

I think they all moved to Craigavon early 70s Harry Lagan was from the Murf
