Home for distressed women - Door of Hope
« on: October 20, 2015, 07:01:34 PM »
Has anyone heard of Door of Hope, a small group that "arranged" Protestant adoptions in Belfast and possibly Dublin in the late 1940s and 1950s?    A Miss Piggott maybe have be involved with the group of a Miss Isabela Murdoch.

Thank you

That sounds very much as if it might be this sad organisation.

The Door of Hope was also, I believe, known as The Fold, run by the Irish Church Missions. I am seeking information on Miss Piggott, who brought children to England and (it seems) also to Belfast. In what context did you hear of her?
