It is definitely Jimmy Slane from Abercorn Street North. He's my dad's uncle and he is 100% sure that it's him.
 

I'm sorry but I'm afraid your dad has made a mistake.  I should know, I took the photograph and the two guys were friends of mine from the Hibs, namely Brian Kane & Peter McLaughlan.

Hi. John caldwell was my dads cousin He would be my second cousin. My dad and john were were closed to each other. I dont really remember him as i was only young when he came to our house in new barnsley.  Hes passed away now. But they errected a statue of john in falls road park.
So im very proud of john.

Hi Dub...great to see you on this forum again.  Sean Mc Cafferty was also an old exstudent from school.   I would not have recognised Joe in the photo.   Old students from the school should not allow this thread to die?? :)

Hi maggs, I remember him and have seen the memorial to him in the Dunville Park  park were I often played as a child  :)

My brother Frank bought two tickets to see John Caldwell fight Alfonse Halimi in the Ritz.  Plush seats cost two pounds each. From memory I'm not sure who won.

Sorry Boxer.  From your list it must have been George Bowes I watched him fight in the Ritz.  (ABC cinema Belfast)
