Question for any Glenman.
« on: March 02, 2017, 02:33:22 AM »
Can any Glenman out there answer a question that has been torturing me and a friend for the last couple of weeks.

Was there a midfielder, other than Terry Conroy, who played for Glentoran in the late sixties and was from the R.O.I. ?

Personally I think my friend is thinking of Terry Conroy but he is certain there was another midfielder from the Republic.
He thinks he may have been signed from Home Farm.

I await any clarification.

James
Looking through the players list I think it may be Macken.
I vaguely remember the name. It may be him my buddy is thinking of.

I was not a Glenman. Were you thinking of Ambrose Fogarty or Paddy Turner ?

I don't think Fogarty or Turner are the ones we're talking about.
The player in question was Tony Macklin, although Turner was roughly from the same era but just a couple of seasons earlier.
