Remember the bravery and deeds of the Men & Women of the USC, RUC, RUC Reserve, the UDR, PSNI, but most of all the British Army.

"Hard Brexit would be 'detrimental' to peace process, says PSNI chief"

:D      .      more scare mongering from Byrne          since when did a chief constable     .  become

concerned with farms/agricultural business going bust/culling of animals             is this now a remit in policing ?

interesting this comment was made the day after pretty boy in the south      predicted the UK would face

decades of economic decline following Brexit       .  as the nation struggles to cope with diminishing importance

on the world stage       one wonders if they share the same crystal ball      :D    the EU has deliberately weaponised

the border issue for political gain       .    clearly risking the peace process itself       no one can predict the

outcome of brexit

love me          love my gelding

Ireland's EU Commissioner in Brussels is trying to help the U.K.,... as is the Irish Prime Minister,... and as he points out, both the U.K. and the E.U. have already created legislation which would allow the necessary checks to be carried out without he need for a hard border.

The PSNI Chief Constable is of course aware and concerned that border checkpoints would almost certainly become the target of violent extremist paramilitaries.

However,... as he also points out,... the main barrier to the adoption of such practical solutions,... is the obstinate refusal of the Democratic Unionist Party to consider the use of such measures or to cooperate with Ireland in their implementation and  use.
