I Am Belfast

No, not me.

It's the title of a very unusual and thought-provoking film made in 2015. It's what they call a 'poetic and visually arresting' film, meaning that it is more of an art film rather than something with drama and lots of actors, but I have never seen a film about Belfast like it before. The photography is beautiful at times and always interesting. The film is interspersed with old footage of Belfast and reflections of past events, as told through the narration of a 10,000 yr old woman, representing the city itself. The film is 84 mins long, so pour a glass of whatever tickles your fancy, sit back and relax. It won't be to everyone's taste but it will certainly be of interest to some.

Here it is in full:

I had a quick flick through, and whatever time point you stop on and view, it is fantastic, as is the voiceover narration.
