Pollock family from East Belfast
« on: October 26, 2017, 12:26:48 AM »
I'm adopted from birth & have been searching for my birth family for years. After getting my DNA results from Ancestry, my closest relatives appear to be the Pollock family from East Belfast, possibly including Archibald & Margaret Pollock. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

Hi, i was reading your post and i checked the death records for belfast. There was a Archibald and a Margaret Pollock who loved at 60 Templemore Street easy belfast. Margaret died 9/12/1991, archibald died 4/5/1992. They are buried in Roselawn cemetary section S3781. I think there might have been family belonging to them living in Lord Street which is the next Street to Templemore Street.

A possibility for that couple looks like Archibald Pollock and Margaret Scott who got married in 1925, Archibald was 21 at the time of that marriage, his father was of the same name and a moulder by occupation, which would seem to read back to this family in 1911: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Down/Victoria__part_of_/Welland/226974/

Archibald junior was born in Belfast in 1904, his birth registration names the mother as Elizabeth Cochrane (as does at least one of the birth registrations for the other children in the above census return, but others' birth registrations give her name as Coffey):   https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1904/01819/1711927.pdf

An Archibald Pollock (father Samuel, an engine driver) married an Elizabeth Coffey in Belfast in 1898:
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1898/10432/5798479.pdf

Street directories from 1918-1960 on the Lennon Wylie website show an Archibald Pollock living at 120 Lord Street, for example, in 1918: 120. Pollock, Archibald, moulder

As I said, just a possibility.
