It's not Conway Street - the windows on the end of the Conway Mill are different

This is Conway Street Mill - (no signs of rebuilding so it's not the building in the photo above)

Certainly not Cupar Street. The steam / water pipe running from one building to the next suggests a business connection. I never remember that in Cupar street.

I believe it to be North Howard Street.

I think it is Cupar Street looking from the Falls Road.  After Daly's Bar there were 7 houses and then Greaves Mill which fits with this photo.  That pipe went across to Greaves Mill in Conway Street.[/img]

Thanks guys but these buildings are very confusing. You would think automatically that it's Conway Street but the mills are different shape structures. I wonder if it is North Howard Street?

St Anthony - do you have any other photos of the area? I am particularly keen to find photos of buses burned or used as barricades in August 1969.

You could well be correct. What puts me off Cupar Street is the water / steam pipe running across the road. I don't remember that ? If this were Cupar Street looking from the Falls, Cupar Street took a sharp `dog leg` to the left roughly around the place where the Clinic / Finnegans bar stood. Although difficult to see accurately in this photo that does not seem to be the case. My memory may be playing tricks however.  :)

I wonder did you know the Mahonys who lived near the bottom end of Conway Street? Lost track of my old mate Brendan when I came to Oz in 1974 and would like to find him.  :)
Thanks Joe
