Hi[/size]I'm trying to locate the parents of these two men (may or may not be related).  Both born in Belfast & both immigrated to New Zealand;
Robert Hayes HANNA b.7 Jun 1844 m.10 Mar 1850, Christchurch, NZ to Alice RICKARD (23 Mar 1580-20 Dec 1911) d.20 Jan 1904 - Storekeeper in Rangiora.William HANNA b.1853 m. 1891, Belfast to Jane Pearson SCOTT (1864-25 Sep 1954) d.19 Nov 1937, Cambridge, NZ - Farmer.

     William who married in 1891 had a father named William. Both were farmers and Wm junior’s townland was Carnaglis (Carnaghliss). Irish marriage certs don’t contain mother’s names.

However the 1901 census suggests William’s mother was named Mary.

1862 Griffiths valuation[/color]1860’s Griffiths Valuation of Ireland using the quick index of http://www.failteromhat.com/post1845.phpshows a William Hanna map ref 26 in Carnaghliss Killead  civil parish  switching to the detailed version  http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/ it dates the description as 1862 with 83 acres and a house valued £8pa that’s a good sized farm in those days but the quality of the land is more grazing Diary farming etc.  it looks like the house currently 42 Ballyhill Rd, Crumlin BT29 4TP look up Google maps and satellite view[/font][/color]

Im a descendant of robert hayes hanna. I have been looking into this particular situation and found via a military record that his parents were letitia and william hanna. I havent been able to find out any more than that. Please let me know if you have found anything beyond this and feel free ti contact me.

Hi Rachill, It's Annie in Christchurch, I was interested in your post from 2018 and also replies especially from Hanaeve a descendant. I am also trying to discover the family tree of Robert Hayes Hanna. I would be happy to hear from Hanaeve as well. Robert married Alice Rickard 10th March 1875. But yes their first child who died at age 18 months was Letitia Agnes, so that makes sense she was named after his mother ? Letitia, they also named a son William. But am keen to find out more of his life and family in Ballynahinch County Down Ireland before immigration and which ship he may have come out on, I think he came via Melbourne ? c. 1870's
