The artwork and colouring is beautiful, but what I find astonishing is the sheer amount of writing on this document, it must have taken an absolute age to do it and presumably Joseph was turning out documents like this day and daily:

Wow.  how skilful is that.
Stunning to say the least.
Tomas, thank you for sharing this & CMcG thank you for posting.

On a similar note, I too am the custodian of a bit of family history.  my Great Uncle’s Death Penny from WW1. It sits in a prominent position in my study and I’m so proud to have it. Unfortunately I do not have his medals. He died on the Somme 3rd Sept 1916 aged 19.

so happy you enjoyed the Art work. it is always nice to have a thread back to the past. I can imagine how important your Great Uncles Death Penny must be.
it is also great to network with others that in different ways have links with all of these past generations. I learned some valuable information and now can pass on to future generations.
thanks again, it was interesting and nice !

Tomas.

Tomas, do you know why your father received this piece of art?  I too have a magnificent art piece presented to my great grandfather and his wife in honor of his marriage.

Hello

The letter was a presentation from fellow members of the Rock Drama club that he participated in. It was a Wedding present for his marriage. This is stated in the letter text. Sounds like it was a popular present at the time. Not sure what the equivalent would be today?
Glad to hear you have something similar to enjoy

Hi Tomas, what beautiful artwork & a great item to have.
Do you know anything about the signatures on the document?
I have a John Farr in my family tree but have very little information on him.
Apologies for straying off topic but does anyone know anything about the Rock Dramatic Club?
