The Belfast Mod Scene 1980's
« on: December 30, 2018, 07:34:29 PM »

There was a certain sweetness and shyness to the Mod movement in Belfast in the 80's. Here's the Belfast Eight and their two girlfriends:

The first serious band I ever saw was The Jam. .1979, I was sixteen.

They were only around for 3 years so that is a bit of a coup.

There never seemed to be many mods/scooters  around Belfast in those days, just us bikers, lol. But good to see some custom scooters at the Belfast Custom Show.

Yes. Mods didn't destroy the YMCA youth club in Wellington Place. The skinheads did.
Not available in Northern Ireland.

I thought Mods were a mid 60's thing. I was in London in 65/66 and they and Rockers were all over the place. How did they make a comeback in 80's Belfast?

Yes Toadstool I well remember in the `60`s the confrontations in the English seaside resorts
between the Mods and Rockers.
Weekends and Bank Holidays.
No memory of them in NI-but if it was the 80`s I`d been long gone from the `scene`!

100 mod and ska tracks

I was never a mod myself. I was more of a Rod. Half rock, half mod. I liked it all. Love everyone.
