Lisnasharragh Secondary
« on: February 09, 2008, 09:10:09 PM »
As a former pupil of Lisnasharragh Secondary School, which is sadly closing in June 2008, I'm attempting to get in touch with a few old school friends. I attended Lisnasharragh between the 2nd September 1963 and the 30th June 1967, and during that period resided in the Braniel estate in east Belfast.

It'd be great to meet some of the following again ... Walter Milling. David Blakely. Ian Johnston. David Magill. Jimmy Armstrong (originally from Ballygown) and any other friends from my time at Lisnasharragh Secondary.

My first name is ... Andrew
Positively 4th Street.
Desolation Row.
Highway 61.

The Belfast Telegraph dated Saturday 26th April contained a letter from a guy called Peter Brownlee who is now based in  Bristol. He mentioned that it is planned to make
a film tracing the history of Lisnasharragh. The producers would like to make contact with people who are willing to share their memories of the school.

Former pupils included ...
David Kinsella  ...

I was over at my brother-in-law's house last night and he had the book that was made for the school closing. It listed all the pupils pictures each year, from when the school opened until it closed. It was really interesting looking through it and picking out people I knew from the Cregagh & the Braniel. I wish every school had done something like this.

Did any of the past pupils on the Forum see this book?

Hi soda farl,

there is a Lisnasharragh thread and a Braniel thread on Exiles.  My husband came from the Braniel and his brothers went to Lisnasharragh.

Thanks Chunder,

I am sure there will be a lot of ex-pupils who would like this DVD.

I went to Lisnasharragh when it opened in 1956 & left school that year. I lived in Carney Cres.
Castlereagh at that time. I believe it has closed down?
