I never figured out how a land locked location was known as Tiger Bay  ???
Tiger's Bay got its name, like Tiger bay in Cardiff was a name sailors gave to a port where they found the men to be hard workers, hard drinkers and hard men.

The late Belfast author Sam McAghtry wrote several humorous books  about his youth there.

You are right, Welder. Some really touching, humorous and very human stories of childhood and characters. I lost a booklet of his stories that I kept for years; must try to find it again.

I started this thread with an error.

I said my Father and Grand-parents lived at 2 Arosa Parade.

They did in fact live at number 21. Sorry for my mistake.

I was honoured in the 80's while taking my Father out for a drive

to drive him to the home of his former Wimpey Ganger

Bob Carol at Blyth. The hadn't met in years, hugged on sight.
