Remember the bravery and deeds of the Men & Women of the USC, RUC, RUC Reserve, the UDR, PSNI, but most of all the British Army.

I think this is the problem. Most certainly everyone in the Public sector will benefit and perhaps the Private sector as well. Dealing with the Public sector, its quite clear the bumbling, buffoonish figure that is Farry, has goofed, big time. I note that in the past he has always been highly critical of excesses as he puts it. Perhaps he doesn't consider this `goof` as an excess, even through it could make the RHI scheme look like pocket money, in comparison ?   :) Proof positive why the Alliance party, shouldn't hold Ministerial posts.  :)

The PSNI officers were entitled to be paid according to the law. it was their employers who goofed by not paying the appropriate rate.
The officers were entitled to be paid for work they did, in contrast to the MLA'S who get paid for work they don't do.

The amounts bandied about are a drop in the ocean compared to the RHI figures.
Congratulations to the PSNI officers and NIPSA for a good job well done.  :P

No doubt if anyone deserves it, its the PSNI. The problem is the incompetent Farry should have put a cap on it, same as GB. Apparently, he didn't make other Departments aware of the problem. This has the potential to be a massive drain on the public purse.  :)

No cap should have been applied.  People are only asking for what they entitled to, what they worked for. It is better the money stays in the NI economy for the good of local businesses and service providers, and helps retains local jobs.  Would you want the money to be used for Overseas Aid rather than paid to local people ?  The UK gives more in foreign aid every year than it pays into the EU. Nuclear countries like Pakistan and India receive millions.  A cap on their nuclear programmes would be more like it.   Mr Farry put local interests first.
