The only Daniel Marmion death that I could find in 1941/42 on the GRONI death index was one registered in Banbridge for someone reported as a 61 year old man who died on 3 April 1941, that would place birth year around 1880 (rather than 1900).

The only Daniel Marmion that I could find in the 1911 census consistent with that birth year was this one living with his mother Eliza in the townland of Drin:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Down/Crossgar/Drin/213928/

Same man in 1901, father stated as Daniel:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Down/Crossgar/Drinn/1205244/

Daniel junior was born at Drin in 1880, mother stated as Eliza McCann:
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1880/02888/2058227.pdf

Daniel Marmion senior married Eliza McCann in Dromara RC church in 1869  (the two fathers stated as Bernard Marmion and Patrick McCann):
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1869/11407/8188906.pdf

Daniel Marmion junior of Drin, with a father stated as Daniel, married a Mary Alice McMullan in 1917:

Could it be that this Daniel (junior) and Mary Alice McMullan went on to have a son John in 1924?  Does any of this ring a bell?

Daniel senior died in 1910, here is the Will Calendars index entry:
Probate of the Will of Daniel Marmion late of Drinn County Down Farmer who died 3 November 1910 granted at Belfast to Daniel Marmion and John McMullan (Junior) Farmers.

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1910/05414/4512917.pdf

There also an index entry for Daniel junior:
Marmion Daniel of Drinn Dromara county Down farmer died 3 April 1941 Probate Belfast 5 October to Mary Alice Marmion the widow and Bernard McMullan farmer. Effects £869 15s.
