Pardon me for sounding dumb but is JFK missing from this photo ?

I THINK I recognise Ted on Joe seniors knee
Joe junior standing back right
RFK behind Ted in the light suit
I don’t recognise who that is in the middle third from the left.

JFK is standing in the centre. They were an unlucky family in so many ways.

I think that JFK’s assassination coloured many people’s impression of the Kennedy’s, myself included. But once the family’s history started to unfold and the true story came out, then yes I agree, they left a lot to be desired, particularly the father, Joseph.

I’ve read several books about the Kennedys and Joe senior doesn’t come out of any of them in a good light nor for that matter does Rose the Mother. For me , the most appalling and cowardly one was Ted because of the way he left Mary Jo Kopechne to drown in that car in Chappaquiddick . It is now known if he had raised the alarm she could have been saved , it’s estimated she was alive with an air pocket in the car for around thirty minutes but Ted was too busy trying to cover his own ass to worry about just a secretary.

The thing that amazed me was how revered Ted was right up until his death. I was in company in Cambridge Massachusetts when Ted was still living and my local companions were talking about the political scene around Boston and naturally the Kennedys came up and I expressed my opinion of Ted which in hindsight probably wasn’t the wisest thing to do and for a moment I seriously thought that I was going to be assaulted, and these were intelligent well educated people who wouldn’t believe that Ted had done anything wrong . I kept my mouth shut the rest of the evening !

Agree 100%, both them and the Windsor's are very dysfunctional families, but for some reason they are both treated as royalty by millions of people!!!   :-\

Our Queen Elizabeth II's uncle abdicated taking with him Wallis,

a twice divorced Catholic. It's said both thought highly of Hitler.

I do not know enough about the Kennedy Family to comment but I greatly admired President John Kennedy; a far cry from what the American people have now as President.

Not so sure about the term 'unlucky'. They were the masters of their own misfortune.  ::)

Remember the bravery and deeds of the Men & Women of the USC, RUC, RUC Reserve, the UDR, PSNI, but most of all the British Army.
