 Ancestor Research:
Robert [ my wife's Uncle ] and his wife Edith were shopkeepers in Belfast. I have recently seen a newspaper article in the Belfast Telegraph [ 29th November 1962 ], concerning " 25 stolen after 'phone call decoy" with respect to Edith at 134 Manor Street, Belfast. They had a son called Jack, who I think was in the 66th Troop Boy Scouts [ 1961 ], Cregagh Presbyterian Church Belfast. Originally the family lived in Perth [ Scotland ] and then moved to Belfast. Robert was born in Stockton on Tees, County Durham, England. My wife and I live in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, England.
I am trying to gather information from the internet for my records, any details would be appreciated.[/font]

In the Belfast Telegraph [ 13 December 1977 ] obituary for Robert Cockin a reference to the Naval Yard is mentioned. Therefore it appears from the newspaper article that only Edith was in the shop.

In the 1960 Belfast Street Directory, Robert Cockin is shown as a rate fixer for his occupation?
