GRO death record
« on: October 02, 2019, 11:57:15 AM »

Hello
Question for anyone who can help.
Is it possible for GRO to have missed a record while transcribing, has anyone came across this.
I have a birth and marriage record but no death record. I have the deeds of the grave and the date of burial but nothing to match on GRO.
Is it worth sending what I do have to GRO to apply for a death certificate just in case.
Has anyone else had this problem.
The death was in 1933 so well within the 50 year limit. Have tried the Irish Genealogy.ie in case she died in Ireland but no joy.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
J

I donít see a death on the GRONI site that matches the information you have. Could she have died outside Ireland, and brought back to Ireland for burial?

You could certainly e-mail GRONI with the date and location information and ask them to search for a death that matches it. Itís possible it has been indexed incorrectly.

Hi
I had thought of the outside of Ireland but there is no family connection across the water, and with a young son of only 3 when she died its looking unlikely.
Think an email is probably best.
Thanks

Hi j,
Have you tried to find any thing in the local papers around that time?
Did a look on free bmd.org 1931/1934, nothing under that name.
          Good luck,  Billy.
