Mary Robinson 1912
« on: November 05, 2019, 11:14:44 AM »

Trying to find out who Mary Robinson was. She died 10th Feb 1912 and is buried in Milltown Cemetery.
We only discovered this when we recently went to erect a headstone for my relative who died in 1932, we assumed this was his family grave and there are no Robinsons in his family circle.

The closest death registration I could find is the following one for a Mary Jane Robinson of 196 Nelson Street, the reported age was 19, the death informant was her mother Annie... BUT, she died on 6 February 1912, not 10 February 1912:

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1912/05376/4499604.pdf

That reads across to this family living at 196 Nelson Street in the 1911 census:

Do you think it is the same Mary?

This was the same family in 1901:

The births for the children in these census records all point to the parents being Henry Robinson and Anne Tierney. Note that the birthplace for the mother Anne/Annie in the two census returns varies between Galway and neighbouring Roscommon.  Does the Tierney surname or the Galway/Roscommon location ring any bell?

Hi CMcG thank you for your reply.

I have no knowledge of the family who lived at 196 Nelson Street but it is near to where my relative lived at that time.

Again, I have never heard of the Tierney family being mentioned but this gives me some direction to follow.

You are awesome CMcG, thanks again.
